Is your dressing table a disorganized mess? If so, you probably spend a lot of time searching for specific makeup, hair, and jewelry items each morning. Having an organized dressing table helps save you time in the morning, but it also makes getting ready a more relaxing process. Instead of focusing on how much time you have before you have to walk out the door, you can use the time you would've spent searching for things enjoying a cup of coffee or watching TV. Check out these tips to make organizing your dressing table simple.

Makeup

If you're like many women, you probably have multiple sets of makeup—everyday makeup, date night or girls' night makeup, and seasonal makeup. After all, if you want to achieve different looks for different occasions, you need to have the right supplies. To make storing your makeup simple, try these ideas.

  • Use a tiered candy dish to keep the products you use every day within reach.
  • Use clear jewelry trays in your drawers to organize makeup products that you don't use daily.
  • Use a cup, jar, or toothbrush holder to store your makeup brushes so that they are facing up — they'll retain their shape and last longer.
  • Use a file or magazine rack to store large makeup palettes.

Hair Products

To save time in the morning, you can keep the hair-care products that you use daily within reach. However, the last thing you want to do is overcrowd the surface of your dressing table. Consider attaching small bins or baskets to the side of your dressing table, and then use them to store any appliances you use—such as a hair dryer, straightening iron, or curling wand. You can also keep your daily haircare products off of your dressing table by hanging a small shelf between the tabletop and mirror. Lastly, if you use hair extensions, it's important that you hang them up properly so they don't tangle. Consider using a wall-mounted necklace organizer to store your hair extensions so they are within reach.

Jewelry

There are several ways that you can store your jewelry without using valuable space on your dressing table. Wall-mounted necklace organizers can be used to store your necklaces, and jewelry drawer inserts can store smaller items, such as earrings, bracelets, and rings. If you have the space, you can designate an entire drawer to organizing your jewelry. To make the most of your space, purchase stackable jewelry tray inserts. Using both the height and width of your drawer ensures you have no wasted space.

Organizing your dressing table doesn't have to be difficult. Once it's organized, you'll be surprised at how much easier it is for you to get ready in the morning.
